Didn't watch the video, but something similar happened here in GA. There was a scare regarding some tomatoes containing salmanila (I believe). The media (with the help of the FDA) quickly jumped on it, more or less saying, "Any and all tomatoes that have ever been grown or ever will be grown will instantly kill anyone who so much as looks at them". Everyone quit buying them. Prices went down from roughly $16 per box to about $3 per box. The farmers in GA had to let their tomato crop rot on the vine, and they lost a ton of money. What the media and the FDA never mentioned was that not a single GA tomato was found to be contaminated, they were all tomatoes that were from elsewhere. Of course everyone laps the 6:00 news right up, and never thinks twice about the issue.... Sad.
